Draft Proofreading analyzes a patent draft attached to an invention disclosure for concept coverage, claims best practices, and Section 101 and 112 issues. It helps counsel spot gaps and weaknesses before returning comments to outside counsel.
Key Capabilities
Concept Coverage -- ArcPrime compares the invention concepts in the disclosure against the draft and rates each one Covered, Partially Covered, or Not Covered.
Best Practices -- ArcPrime checks the claims for divided infringement and overly long independent claims, and shows the checks that pass as well as those that fail.
Section 101 -- ArcPrime flags subject-matter eligibility concerns and recommends how to address them.
Section 112 -- Findings are grouped as written description, enablement, indefiniteness, antecedent basis, and means-plus-function.
Issue summary and versions -- A summary at the top counts issues by section, and each uploaded draft keeps its own review.
How It Works
Upload the draft to the disclosure as an attachment. In the correspondence panel, the document gains a Draft Proofreading entry with Concept Coverage, Claims Best Practices, 101 Review, and 112 Review beneath it. Open it and click Start on the Generate Draft Proofreading card. Turn on Auto-run (units apply) in the panel header if you want every future draft reviewed automatically.
When the review completes, the issue summary lists how many findings each section contains and links to them. Every finding shows a severity of High, Medium, or Low, quotes the relevant draft text, and explains the concern. Click Show More on a finding to read its location and see the suggested wording under Claim Amendment, then Show Less to collapse it.
In Best Practices, the badges No Divided Infringement and No Overly Long Claims turn green when a check passes. When a check finds issues, the badge shows the check name and the findings are listed below it.
