Patent Changelog: Track Every Change to Your Portfolio

Track every change made to a patent record in ArcPrime with timestamped changelog entries for auditing

The patent changelog gives you a complete audit trail of every data change across your patent portfolio. Whether updates come from automated syncs, team edits, or external data sources, the changelog records what changed, the old value, the new value, and when it happened.

Key Capabilities

  • Todo tab β€” Review pending data changes that need your approval before they are applied. Accept, modify, or reject incoming updates one at a time or in bulk.

  • Updates tab β€” Browse all previously applied changes. See the old and new values for each field, grouped by patent.

  • Field-level tracking β€” Every change is recorded at the field level, including status, dates, application numbers, claims, descriptions, assignees, and more.

  • Claims and description diffs β€” For claims and description changes, view a side-by-side comparison to see exactly what text was added, removed, or modified.

  • Edit before applying β€” Modify an incoming value before applying it if the suggested update needs adjustment.

  • Auto-approved fields β€” Configure which field types are applied automatically without manual review, saving time on routine updates.

How It Works

Open Patents > Changelog from the sidebar. The changelog has two tabs: Todo and Updates.

The Todo tab shows pending changes that ArcPrime has detected from external data sources. Each row shows the patent's internal ID, the field that changed, the current value, the incoming value, and the date the change was detected. You can approve changes individually or select multiple entries and apply them in bulk.

The Updates tab shows all changes that have already been applied. This serves as an audit log. Each row shows the internal ID, field name, old value, new value, and the date the change was applied. Click any row to view details or, for claims and descriptions, to see a visual diff.
