Office Action Response: AI-Powered Analysis and Strategy

Discover how ArcPrime's AI-powered office action response tool analyzes rejections and recommends strategies

Written by Jonathan Liu

ArcPrime's Office Action Response feature analyzes office actions, identifies the examiner's position on each rejection, and recommends response strategies with draft amendments. Instead of reading through dense office actions and cited references manually, you get a structured breakdown that highlights what matters and suggests how to respond.

Key Capabilities

  • Structured OA reading β€” View the office action in a structured format with inline citations that link directly to the relevant passages in cited references.

  • AI-generated summary β€” Review a concise summary of the office action including rejection types, examiner profile, and prosecution history at a glance.

  • Per-objection analysis β€” Drill into each rejection individually to see the examiner's position, limitation mapping, and recommended strategy.

  • Strategy recommendations β€” Evaluate AI-suggested response strategies for each objection, with side-by-side comparisons and alternative approaches.

  • Draft amendments β€” Review AI-suggested claim amendments with additions and deletions clearly marked, ready for your review and refinement.

  • Claim landscape β€” Visualize the relationships between claims, their dependencies, and how they connect to the cited references.

  • Examiner and art unit insights β€” Access historical data on the examiner's allowance rate, average prosecution length, and art unit patterns.

How It Works

Open a patent from your patent list, then select the office action document you want to respond to. Click Run Analysis to initiate the AI analysis. ArcPrime processes the office action, cited references, your application, and prosecution history to produce a comprehensive analysis.

The results are organized into two main areas, accessible from the sidebar on the left:

  1. Global Analysis sections cover the full office action: Read OA, OA Summary, Understand Application, Claim Landscape, and Understand References.

  2. Per-Objection Analysis sections break down each rejection individually with the examiner's position, limitation mapping, recommended strategy, draft amendments, and alternative strategies.

A built-in AI assistant chat panel is available throughout the analysis for follow-up questions about any section you are viewing.
