How to Create a Task

Create a new prosecution task in ArcPrime with a title, priority level, status, due date, and patent association

This article walks you through creating a new task and associating it with a patent or disclosure.

Steps

  1. Open the Tasks dashboard.

  2. Click Create Task in the top-right corner.

  3. In the Case or Disclosure field, search for the patent or disclosure you want to associate with this task. Select it from the results.

  4. Select a Status for the task: Open, In Progress, Blocked, Completed, or Cancelled.

  5. Select a Due Date using the date picker.

  6. Select a Task Type from the dropdown. The available types depend on whether you selected a patent or a disclosure.

    • For patents: types include deadline-based tasks like response deadlines and maintenance fees.

    • For disclosures: types include review and submission tasks.

  7. Select a Priority: High, Medium, or Low.

  8. Click Create task.

The task appears on your dashboard and on the associated patent or disclosure detail page.

Note: The Task Type options change based on whether you selected a patent or disclosure. Select the patent or disclosure first to see the relevant task types.
