The AI assistant is a conversational panel built into ArcPrime. It helps you analyze patents, review disclosures, explore your portfolio, and get answers without leaving the page. It adapts to the page you are viewing, so the answers you receive are relevant to the task at hand.
Key Capabilities
Context-aware responses — The AI assistant knows where you are in ArcPrime. On a patent page it knows the claims, prosecution history, and correspondence. On a disclosure it knows the invention details. On the dashboard, patent list, or a budget page it sees the wider portfolio.
Natural language questions — Ask questions the way you would ask a colleague. No special syntax or commands are required.
Visible working and sources — The assistant's working appears as a collapsed line such as Thought for 17s; click its chevron to see the individual steps, such as Reading patent claims. Every answer ends with a Sources row. Click a source to open the record or Library passage it came from.
Reads your documents — The assistant reads email attachments, cites clauses from documents with the passage highlighted, and searches your Library folders.
Actionable links — When an answer refers to a patent, disclosure, task, or filtered patent list, it links to that record.
Custom prompts — Save frequently used questions as custom prompts. Prompts are grouped by page type, so patent prompts appear on patent pages and disclosure prompts on disclosures.
Conversation history — Every conversation is saved. Reopen one from the chat list, and rename or delete it from its menu.
How It Works
The AI assistant button is the round ArcPrime mark at the right end of the navigation bar, next to your avatar. Hover to see a greeting such as "Hello, ask me anything about this patent," and click it to open the panel. The panel opens beside the page rather than over it. Drag its edge to resize it; ArcPrime remembers the width.
The header pill shows the current context. It reads the patent's docket number, the disclosure title, the project name with any active filters, Patents, Dashboard, or Budget. On pages without a single record it reads ArcPrime. Enter your question in the Ask anything... field and press Enter. Use Shift+Enter for a new line, and click the stop button to interrupt an answer.
Click New chat in the header to start a fresh conversation, the menu icon to open the chat list, and the expand icon for a wider view. If you leave the page mid-answer, reopen the conversation and the answer continues.

The assistant is available to internal roles and outside counsel. Inventors and search vendors do not see the button.
