AI Assistant: Your On-Demand Patent Intelligence Partner

Discover what ArcPrime's AI assistant can do and how it adapts its capabilities to your current page

Written by Jonathan Liu

The AI assistant is a conversational interface built into ArcPrime that helps you analyze patents, review disclosures, explore your portfolio, and get answers without leaving the page you are working on. It adapts to the context of the page you are viewing, so the answers you receive are always relevant to the task at hand.

Key Capabilities

  • Context-aware responses β€” The AI assistant automatically understands where you are in ArcPrime. On a patent page, it knows the patent's claims, prosecution history, and correspondence. On a disclosure, it knows the invention details. On the dashboard, it has visibility into your full portfolio.

  • Natural language questions β€” Ask questions the way you would ask a colleague. No special syntax or commands are required.

  • Source citations β€” Responses include references to the specific patents, documents, or data the AI assistant used. You can review these sources to verify accuracy.

  • Custom prompts β€” Save frequently used questions as custom prompts for quick access in future conversations. Custom prompts are context-specific, so your patent prompts appear on patent pages and your disclosure prompts appear on disclosure pages.

  • Conversation history β€” Previous conversations are saved and searchable from the sidebar. You can return to any past conversation to review answers or continue the discussion.

  • Voice input β€” Dictate your questions using the microphone button in supported browsers.

How It Works

The AI assistant appears as a floating button in the bottom-right area of the ArcPrime interface. Click the button to open a conversation in a sidebar panel. The header of the conversation shows the current context, such as the patent docket number, disclosure title, project name, or "Dashboard."

Enter your question in the text field at the bottom of the panel and press Enter or click the send button. The AI assistant processes your request, retrieves relevant data, and responds with an answer. While working, the assistant shows status indicators like "Looking up patent details" or "Searching correspondence" so you know what data it is accessing.

You can expand the sidebar to a wider view for longer conversations, or minimize it to return to your work. Click New Chat to start a fresh conversation in the current context.
