Every invention disclosure in ArcPrime moves through a series of stages that represent your organization's review workflow. Stages give counsel, inventors, and committee members a clear view of where each disclosure stands and what happens next.
Key Capabilities
Workspace stages -- ArcPrime sets up the stages for your workspace. A typical sequence runs from IC reviewing through IC approved, Awaiting meeting, OC drafting, Inventor review, and IC final review. It then continues with OC to file, Filed by OC, Case filed, and Case closed.
Visual indicators -- Each stage has a colored icon so you can identify a disclosure's status at a glance.
Automatic transitions -- Approval, rejection, committee review, merging, meeting dates, and filing all move disclosures without manual work.
Manual moves -- Users with the stage-change permission can move a disclosure from the list or its detail page.
Reminders -- Stage reminders nudge counsel, inventors, or outside counsel when a disclosure sits in a stage too long.
How It Works
A new disclosure lands in IC reviewing. From the list, click the stage circle at the left of a row and select a new stage. On the detail page, use the Status dropdown at the top.
Both controls are disabled until every inventor has a valid email address.
ArcPrime moves disclosures automatically at these points:
Event | Resulting stage |
Counsel sends the disclosure to the patent committee | Committee review stage |
Counsel approves or rejects the disclosure | IC approved or IC rejected |
The outside counsel meeting date passes | OC drafting |
A filing email or filed case is linked to the disclosure | Case filed |
The disclosure is merged into another one | Merged |
A closed, merged, or rejected disclosure is never pulled back to Case filed by later correspondence. Case closed is set manually when work on the family ends.
Common Use Cases
Use Case | How ArcPrime Helps |
Track new submissions | Click the IC reviewing tab to see everything awaiting review |
Monitor the committee | Filter by the committee stage to see disclosures awaiting votes |
Chase outside counsel | Reminders for Awaiting meeting, OC drafting, and OC to file are on by default |
Find what was filed | Filter by Case filed and click Go to Patent on a disclosure to open the case |
Getting Started
Stages are shown under Settings > Disclosures > General; to change them, contact support from that page. To filter by stage, see How to Search and Filter Disclosures.
