Disclosure Stages: Tracking Progress from Submission to Filing

Learn what each invention disclosure stage means in ArcPrime and what actions trigger transitions between them

Written by Jonathan Liu

Every disclosure in ArcPrime moves through a series of stages that represent your organization's review workflow. Stages give counsel, inventors, and committee members a clear view of where each disclosure stands and what action is needed next.

Key Capabilities

  • Configurable stages -- Your organization defines the stages that match your internal process. Common stages include Submitted, Under Review, Committee Review, Approved, and Sent to Outside Counsel.

  • Visual indicators -- Each stage has a colored icon so you can identify a disclosure's status at a glance. A red indicator means the disclosure requires your action. A gray indicator means someone else is responsible for the next step.

  • Stage transitions -- Counsel can move disclosures between stages manually. Some transitions happen automatically based on actions like approval or rejection.

  • Filtered views -- Filter the disclosure list by one or more stages to focus on the disclosures that need your attention.

How It Works

When a disclosure is first submitted, ArcPrime places it in the initial stage of your workflow. From the disclosure list, counsel can change a disclosure's stage by clicking the stage indicator next to the disclosure and selecting a new stage from the dropdown. Each stage transition is logged so you have a complete audit trail of the disclosure's progress.

Certain actions trigger automatic stage transitions. For example, approving a disclosure through the approval workflow moves it to the approved stage. Similarly, a committee vote may advance or reject a disclosure depending on the outcome.
