Your portfolio tells a clearer story when every case is mapped to the technologies and products that matter to your company. ArcPrime maintains two taxonomies for each workspace: a technology taxonomy of technologies and subtechnologies, and a product taxonomy of segments and product lines with revenue attached.
Key Capabilities
Technology and subtechnology hierarchy — Two levels with descriptions, generated by ArcPrime from your portfolio and refined with you during onboarding.
Product view — Segments and product lines with reported or estimated revenue, so filing decisions carry the revenue line behind them.
Filing balance — Each technology is colored Over-filed, Balanced, or Under-filed against a target share you can edit.
Filterable patent list — Select any technology to see its cases, filtered by status, country, date, labels, and more.
Foundation for analytics — Taxonomy powers Charts, the Watch List, Pruning's Technology Balance factor, and the Report Generator's vocabulary.
How It Works
Open Patents > Portfolio > Taxonomy. Use the Technology and Product switch on the header line to change views. Four cards show Total Active Cases, Total Active Families, Total In-Force Patents, and Total Pending Cases for the selected scope.
In the Technology view, the sunburst on the left shows technologies as the inner ring and subtechnologies as the outer ring. Select a segment to filter the patent table on the right. Click the info icon next to Technology Taxonomy to open the Market Size Breakdown, where you compare each technology's share against its target.
In the Product view, the sunburst shows segments and product lines. Select one to see its revenue, sources, and assigned products, with an As of date on the header line.
Definitions live under Settings > Workspace Data > Taxonomy. If you want to change the structure, contact support from that page.
