When to Use Quick Research
Sometimes you only want to know what a claim reads on, and that does not need a full chart. Quick Research scans public information about competing products and your own products and returns the most relevant matches with citations in minutes. Deep research remains the tool when the answer has to hold up in a chart.
Quick Research also feeds the pruning Keep Score. When a patent has no claim chart, a completed Quick Research stands in for the research factor.
Prerequisites
The patent must have claims.
Quick Research runs on one patent at a time. For a family that spans jurisdictions, ArcPrime asks which patent to research.
Steps From a Patent
Open the patent and scroll to the Strategy section.
Click Quick Research, or Re-run Quick Research if a run already exists.
In the Quick Research window, optionally enter guidance under Custom instruction (optional), such as a sector or market to focus on.
Click Do Quick Research. The card shows a searching state while the run completes.
Steps From the Pruning Candidates Table
Open Patents > Intelligence > Pruning.
Find the family in the candidates table and look at the Product Mappings column.
Click Do Quick Research. If the family spans several jurisdictions, select a patent in the Select a Patent for Quick Research window and click Continue.
Add an optional instruction and click Do Quick Research.
When the run finishes, the cell shows the top product with its relevance percentage. Hover over it to see the other matches. Click Re-run Quick Research to refresh the result.
Reading the Results
The Quick Research card on the patent lists the top matches. Each row shows a relevance percentage, the product name linked to its website, and a short analysis with cited sources. Products from your own company carry a My product marker.
Click Show More to see every relevant match, and use the version dropdown to compare earlier runs. If nothing matched, the card reads No matching products were found. A run that stopped reads Quick Research stalled., and you can re-run it.
ArcPrime emails you when a run completes. Turn this off with the Quick Research completed preference under Settings > Notifications.
Note: Quick Research identifies likely reads from public information. Confirm any match with deep research before relying on it for enforcement or pruning decisions.
