The Portfolio dashboard gives you a consolidated view of your patent portfolio's composition, spending trends, and geographic distribution. Use it to inform budget decisions, track filing activity, and identify shifts in portfolio balance over time.

Key Capabilities
Total spend and active patents — Summary cards show your total spend over the last ten years and your current count of active patents.
Country distribution — A sunburst chart breaks down active patents by country, with percentages and counts for each jurisdiction.
Patent stages — A second sunburst chart shows the proportion of patents in Disclosures, Pending, Active, and Closed stages.
Filing, grant, and spend trends — A mixed chart plots new filings and new grants as line trends against estimated annual spend as a bar chart, giving you a multi-year view of portfolio activity.
How It Works
Open Patents > Strategy and select the Portfolio tab. The dashboard loads automatically with data from your entire portfolio.
The left panel shows two sunburst charts. The top chart displays patent distribution by country. Hover over any segment to see the country name, percentage, and count. The bottom chart shows the breakdown by patent stage.
The right panel displays summary cards for Total Spend in Last 10 Years and Total Active Patents. Below those, a mixed chart shows New Filings, New Grants, and Estimated Spend across years.

Getting Started
The Portfolio dashboard requires no additional setup beyond importing your patent data. To improve the depth of your analytics, set up a taxonomy so your portfolio data flows into all Strategy views.
