Before You Begin

Step 1: Check Your Dashboard

The Dashboard shows tasks assigned to you or your team. Tasks are grouped by status and may include office action responses, disclosure reviews, signature requests, and other workflow items. Click any task card to open the associated patent or disclosure.

Use the filter chips to show only your tasks. Select your name from the internal counsel filter to narrow the view.

Step 2: Find and Review Patents

Hover over Patents in the navigation bar and select List. Browse or search for specific patents. Click a patent to open its detail page, which includes:

  • Case information (application number, filing date, status, assignees)

  • AI-generated summary and claim analysis

  • A Documents tab showing all correspondence, filings, and AI-generated reports

  • Submission history for signature documents

Step 3: Respond to Office Actions

When an office action requires a response, open the patent and look for the OA response task. ArcPrime analyzes the rejections and recommends response strategies, including suggested amendments and arguments.

  1. Open the patent from your Dashboard task or the Patent List.

  2. Click the office action document to view the OA response recommendation page.

  3. Review the AI-generated analysis, which breaks down each rejection and suggests strategies.

  4. Edit the recommendations as needed. The AI suggestions are a starting point. Apply your judgment before finalizing.

Note: OA response recommendations consume compute units. See Understanding Units for details.

Step 4: Run Prior Art Searches

Prior art searches are available from the disclosure detail page. Open a disclosure, then look for the prior art search section. ArcPrime identifies relevant references and maps them to the disclosure's elements.

Review the results and determine whether additional manual searching is needed. The AI highlights the strongest references, but the final assessment is yours.

Step 5: Review Drafts

ArcPrime can proofread patent application drafts submitted by outside counsel. Open the disclosure detail page and locate the draft proofreading section. The AI checks for missing elements and inconsistencies, then provides suggestions.

Review the flagged items and decide which to address. Draft proofreading helps catch issues before filing, but it does not replace a thorough attorney review.
